Trent Reznor y Atticus Ross triunfan en los Critics Choice Awards por Challengers

En una satisfactoria y diversa noche, Anora se llevó el premio a la mejor película del año, con su único reconocimiento de la noche. Mientras que Shōgun nuevamente se consolidó como la mejor serie de televisión del 2024.

Esto en la 30ª edición de los Critics Choice Awards, que se llevó a cabo este viernes por la noche. Donde los miembros de la Asociación de Críticos Americanos y Canadienses (CCA por sus siglas en inglés) entregan reconocimientos a los mejor del cine y la televisión.

La ceremonia fue presentada por tercera ocasión consecutiva por la comediante Chelsea Handler. Quien nuevamente destacó por su humor durante la noche y con su monólogo de bienvenida. Donde además rindió tributo a los cuerpos de primera respuesta, por su desempeño ante los incendios en la ciudad de Los Ángeles.

Destacados de cine

En una noche en que los premios se estaban repartiendo entre varias películas, el filme de Sean Baker, Anora, se llevó el máximo galardón de la noche. Con un único reconocimiento que tomo por sorpresa al director y al elenco. Mientras que filmes como Conclave (2), Wicked (3), The Substance (3) y Emilia Pérez (3) estaban dominando la noche.

Destaca que Jon M. Chu obtuvo el premio a mejor director, por Wicked, en una categoría en la que no fue considerado para los próximos premios de la Academia. Y el propio director aprovecho para hacer mofa del asunto.

Mientras que la directora francesa Coralie Fargeat se alzó con el reconocimiento a mejor guion original por su filme de horror corporal, The Substance. Comentando que este había sido un guion muy personal que refleja sus inseguridades ante la edad.

Demi Moore, Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin y Zoe Saldana siguen con su racha ganadora en las categorías de actuación.

Mientras que Emilia Perez se llevó la distinción a mejor película de habla no inglesa. Y The Wild Robot dominó en la categoría de mejor película animada.

De manera insólita en la categoría de mejor película de comedia se registró un empate entre A Real Pain y Deadpool & Wolverine.

Y nuestros favoritos Trent Reznor y Atticus Ross se llevaron el premio a mejor banda sonora por Challengers. Complementando el premio que el filme se llevó por mejor edición.

Destacados de televisión

La serie dramática de FX, Shōgun se llevó el premio a mejor serie dramática, como lo esperábamos. Mientras que Hacks y Baby Reindeer se llevaron las distinciones a mejor serie de comedia y mini serie.

Entre los ganadores de la noche se encuentran Hiroyuki Sanada (Shōgun), Collin Farrell (The Penguin), Jean Smart (Hacks) y Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer).

En las agradables sorpresas de la noche Cristin Milioti logró arrebatarle un premio a Jodie Foster, con su interpretación de Sofia Falcone en The Penguin.

Y en algo que nadie se esperaba, en lo que probablemente fue el momento más emotivo de la noche Kathy Bates ganó el premio a mejor actriz dramática. Esto por el drama judicial Matlock. Superando a la favorita Anna Sawai, que se había llevado todos los premios de la temporada por Shōgun.
